In the past, most patients interested in Juvederm Voluma and filler-based contouring were in their 30s–40s. Recently, we’re seeing interest across a wider range—from the 20s through the 60s.
It’s easy to see why: Juvederm continues to be one of the most requested options for natural-looking facial volume and balance.
Case 100: Female, late 20s

Previous treatments: Forehead filler (4 years ago) + masseter/jaw Botox (4 years ago)
After her prior masseter Botox, she noticed clicking/creaking in the jaw joint, which made her understandably hesitant to repeat jaw Botox.
She’d also been considering Sculptra for about two years and wanted guidance on the best approach for her face shape.
We started by reviewing her facial contours together and identifying the main areas affecting overall balance.

Main concerns we identified
- Temple hollowing
- Sunken cheeks
- Hollow under-eyes
- Prominent jawline
Note: In many cases, “under-eye hollowness” (3) is closely related to volume loss in the front cheek (anterior cheek).
Because the temple hollowing was creating a noticeable shadow, and she’d previously had forehead filler, we decided it would be best to continue with a similar filler approach for consistent texture and flow.
For the sunken cheeks and front cheek/under-eye area, we used Juvederm Voluma to restore support and soften harsh lines.
For the jawline prominence, since she had discomfort with jaw Botox in the past, we planned a careful, conservative refinement through non-surgical contouring rather than repeating Botox.
Before & After: Non-surgical contouring with Juvederm Voluma + filler

By combining temple filler with Juvederm Voluma in the cheeks, we were able to soften a prominent “peanut-shaped” silhouette and create a smoother transition through the cheekbones and jawline.

One thing we often share with patients: because Juvederm Voluma and subtle non-surgical contouring are designed to look very natural, about 5–10% of patients say they don’t notice a dramatic difference right away.
(This, of course, doesn’t apply when a case truly needs 6+ syringes but only 1–2 syringes are used.)
In this case, she initially felt unsure too—but once she compared with older photos, she could clearly see how much more balanced and refined her overall shape looked.
Not long after, our manager shared this sweet message from her:

“This is the dermatology clinic of my life.
…Can I cry now?! I’m so grateful!
I will definitely remember this.”
At our clinic, we customize facial contour correction using a combination of options, such as:
- Fillers
- Juvederm Voluma
- Ulthera
- Olyssio
- InMode
- Botox
Thank you!
