Did you know that the upper eyelids actually have a layer of plump fat? This fat helps give the eyes a smooth, youthful contour.

As we age, just like baby fat disappears, the fat in the upper eyelid gradually diminishes and the eyelid skin becomes thinner.

Some people are naturally born with less fat in the upper eyelid and thinner skin. In these cases, even a little fatigue or the end of the day can make the eyes look hollow and tired.

People often ask, “Are you sick?” or “Are you tired today?” because the hollowing makes one look fatigued.

The under-eye hollowing is visible because the upper eyelid’s fat layer is thin and the skin covering the eyelid is delicate.

Depending on each person’s skin thickness, elasticity, and the degree of under-eye hollowness, we select the appropriate filler for the procedure.
