Acne Scar Treatment Case Study (Case 103)

Today, I’m sharing another real patient case from our clinic—an acne scar and pigmentation treatment journey that shows how much skin can improve with consistent care.

Patient Profile

Case 103: A woman in her mid-20s with easily irritated, sensitive skin.

Main Skin Concerns

  • Acne scars (including marks from picking/scratching)
  • Post-acne pigmentation (dark marks around the scars)
  • Visible/enlarged pores

Long-standing picked/scratched marks were clearly visible, along with surrounding pigmentation.

You might also notice that hair growth looks a bit stronger around some scarred areas. This can happen because skin that has been repeatedly irritated or “injured” may show changes around the hair follicles.

Even so, when I looked at her skin closely, I could tell that underneath those surface marks was very healthy skin with great potential.

As it happens, she is the daughter of a nearby clinic director who occasionally visits our dermatology clinic.

She also happens to be a medical student at OO University—which usually means constant exams, late-night studying, stress, and not enough sleep.

It helped explain why her skin, which naturally had such a good baseline, had become so reactive and scar-prone—and honestly, it felt unfair for someone working so hard.

So we started a skin “reset” goal together: help her skin return as close as possible to its original condition.

Before & After Results

Before treatment vs. After treatment

Timeline: Before (July 25, 2023) → After (December 1, 2023)

All photos are shared with consent and are original, unedited images of the same person taken in the same location.

Results vary by individual. Please consult thoroughly before treatment regarding possible side effects (pigmentation changes, bruising, swelling, etc.).

Look at how smooth and refined the skin looks—pores appear tighter, tone looks more even, and the overall texture is much calmer.

What This Case Reminds Us

She’s tall, bright, and genuinely kind—and it was a pleasure seeing her confidence return as her skin improved.

Every time she visited, her calm and thoughtful personality made the treatment process feel even more meaningful.

One important point: most acne scar and pigmentation treatments take time. Depending on skin condition and goals, many patients need 10 sessions or more, and sometimes 20–30 sessions for gradual, stable improvement.

“I still remember thinking, ‘She’s such a cheerful person.’ It always motivated me to pay extra attention to the areas she was most concerned about at each visit.”

We’re proud to be a dermatology clinic that healthcare professionals trust for their own family’s skin.

We’ll continue to focus on one thing above all: real results through careful, consistent treatment.
