While I enjoy performing procedures like lifting, nasolabial fold and forehead fillers, specialized areas such as eyelids and neck wrinkles, and collagen injections like Juvellook or Radiesse, there is one treatment that I find especially rewarding and enjoyable: laser removal of pigmentation, melasma, freckles, and dark spots.

For many people, “Pico Toning” might be the most familiar pigmentation treatment.

Pico Toning lasers work by shattering pigment with very short bursts (picoseconds) in a gentle, dense manner, minimizing damage to the surrounding skin.
This means that the risk of the pigmentation worsening or spreading is low.

At first glance, it sounds like a perfect treatment with no side effects.

However, Pico Toning alone is often insufficient for removing already heavily accumulated dark spots, melasma, nevi, or freckles, especially signs of aging.
For such stubborn pigmentation, Pico Toning or standard Pico lasers may not deliver strong enough results.

Patient: Mid-40s female, before treatment.

The patient visited with a dark spot on the left cheek, approximately the size of a 100-won coin.

Unfortunately, she had previously undergone about 10 sessions of pigmentation treatment at another clinic, but this particular spot did not improve.

When she inquired, she was told that a different laser would be needed to remove it, and that the clinic could not treat it—which understandably left her feeling frustrated and discouraged.

Looking at the before and after, you can see that pigmentation was effectively removed, the skin tone brightened, and with the use of skin boosters, redness and sensitive skin gradually improved, showing fundamental skin regeneration at the same time.

!Real skin rejuvenation!

Pigmentation appears as a signal that the skin is tired and accumulating aging substances, so simply removing the color often leads to recurrence.

Pigmentation treatments—for melasma, freckles, dark spots, and nevi—involve a vast portfolio of laser treatments. There are truly so many different cases. If you scroll through our posts, you can see a wide variety of stories.

Removing melasma, freckles, and dark spots is really difficult! It is naturally challenging.

Some patients have even had 10, 20, or in severe cases, 50 sessions without success before coming to us.

I believe the best approach is to go to a skilled clinic from the beginning and remove it properly.

Thank you.
