Results vary from person to person. A thorough consultation is essential to review potential side effects such as pigmentation changes, bruising, swelling, redness, and downtime.

Case: Female, early 40s

Patient Background

She’s had noticeable freckles since her teenage years and school days—and she even tried laser treatment about 20 years ago.

Over time, she started to think, “I’m already older, so maybe there’s no point.” But with a little encouragement from her husband, she decided to move forward with treatment.

Before vs. After (Unedited)

Below are side-by-side comparisons showing the change in freckles and overall pigmentation.

Pigmentation & Blemish Treatment: Why a Customized Plan Matters

Treating melasma, freckles, sun spots, and other forms of pigmentation isn’t “one laser fits all.” The best approach depends on the type of pigment and how deep it sits in the skin. Results can take time, but when treatment is consistent and properly guided, improvements add up.

On the other hand, repeating quick, standardized sessions (like simple pico toning done the same way every visit) often leads to disappointing outcomes.

Even when pigmentation looks similar to the naked eye, details like these can completely change how we treat it:

  • Depth of pigment: Is it superficial, deeper in the dermis, or mixed?
  • Skin condition around the pigment: Thin, red, reactive, sensitive, or easily inflamed skin needs a different approach.

For effective pigmentation treatment, each session should be adjusted to your skin’s condition that day—including the settings, technique, and targeted areas. Doing dozens of identical 5–10 minute “toning-only” sessions without customization usually offers limited value.

The takeaway: Getting a precise, well-planned treatment strategy from the beginning matters most.
