Case 105: Woman in her late 40s
Today, the patient came to our clinic with the thought:
“It seems like all my peers are taking care of their skin, so now it’s my turn to try skin management!”
Since this was her first dermatology procedure, she had many questions and concerns, which is completely understandable for anyone experiencing their first treatment.
So today, we’ll go over the concerns she had written down and address them together!

Priority of concerns:
- Nasolabial folds
- Pores
- Dullness (dark spots, freckles, pigmentation)
Honestly… is there anyone whose main concern isn’t nasolabial folds?!
For the second and third concerns, the patient mentioned pores and dullness, so we took a MarkView analysis.

There were freckles, pigmentation spots, and discoloration around the eyes.
The pores appeared enlarged, not only in the T-zone but also along the jawline.
To remove pigmentation and improve overall dull skin, the following were suggested:
- Pigmentation lasers for discoloration
- Juvederm Voluma and Highcooks – Potenza for pores
- Consistent Botox for forehead and glabella wrinkles
First, here are the before and after photos of pigmentation treatment around the eyes.

The complexion has brightened, and freckles and spots around the eyes have faded.
If the pores previously appeared large, the elasticity and appearance of the pores have also improved.
This time, I’m sharing the before and after of the procedure addressing the patient’s main concern:
Correction of nasolabial folds with Juvederm Voluma.

As the under-eye hollows and front cheek hollows progressed, they were also worsening the nasolabial folds.
Although the patient hadn’t been aware of this, we corrected it together.
The nasolabial folds are now noticeably softer, but with additional Juvederm Voluma or filler treatments, the overall result could be further enhanced.
Overall impression and complexion changes before and after the procedure

The patient was concerned that since her face usually looked long, adding volume might make it look wider and bigger, but Juvederm Voluma provides natural volume, so there’s no need to worry about it looking overly full.
As this was her first dermatology treatment, she had many questions and sometimes found the changes unfamiliar. I think this is a process that anyone can experience, which is why I write posts diligently.
There are many people with similar concerns, and most leave the clinic smiling after carefully choosing the procedure.
I hope this has been a chance to learn and experience your own skin, treatments, and lasers step by step.
Thank you.
