CureJet + Juvéderm Voluma (scar treatment case review)

One thing we hear often is that CureJet tends to impress people even more when they’ve tried scar treatments before—especially those who feel they’ve hit a “plateau” with other options.

Today, we’re sharing a CureJet scar treatment case for someone with no previous scar treatment.

Patient Case Overview

Case: Male in his 30s – multiple types of scars

History: No prior scar treatment experience

His biggest concern was the uneven, bumpy texture on the nose—the issue he wanted to improve first.

Next were the acne scars and nail marks on the temples and both cheeks.

Like many patients, he wanted to start with the most noticeable scars first—whether that meant Fraxel or another approach.

In this case, we were dealing with three different scar types at once:

  • Nose: raised, bumpy hypertrophic / papular scars
  • Temples: deeply sunken atrophic scars
  • Cheeks: sharp, deep linear nail marks (very defined edges)

Those who’ve tried scar treatments before often know this pattern: after a certain point, improvement can slow down and feel like it stalls.

So we planned a combination approach tailored to each scar type, using CureJet, Potenza, and scar injections.

Before & After (Progress Check)

Priority #1: smoothing the uneven, bumpy scars on the nose.

Next: improving the depressed temple scars and the multiple nail marks across both cheeks.

With additional treatments, we could have potentially reduced the cheek scar depth further and softened some remaining marks. However, the patient’s main concern was the nose—and the improvement there was very satisfying. He was also happy with the changes on both cheeks, so we decided not to proceed with further sessions.

Thoughts on CureJet vs. Fraxel for Scars

Fraxel isn’t a bad option for scars. But when treatments are repeated many times, some people experience prolonged redness and significant discomfort early on—and over the long term, it doesn’t always give that “my skin is truly healthier” feeling.

With CureJet, regardless of whether someone has tried other scar treatments before, we consistently hear comments like:

“My skin just feels better.”

“I’m not sure how to describe the scars yet, but my skin feels more hydrated.”

The scar improvement can be excellent—but if you haven’t experienced other treatments, it can be hard to compare. What’s consistent, though, is that patients almost always feel an overall boost in skin quality.

In my experience working with multiple scar treatments, CureJet is one of the few options that truly feels like it improves skin health—not just scar appearance.

Thank you.
